Making Katie happy, take 1968432

Obviously, we're always up for trying new things in our on-going effort to enjoy life and our baby more. Eric made a "buy whatever might help" trip to Babies R Us on Tuesday after work.

There's several different baby baths/lotions that are specifically marketed for night time. They contain things like lavendar and chamomile to help soothe baby and make her sleepy. We like Baby Magic, so we went with their version. We might try Aveeno next time. Johnson's seems more readily available, but both Kelton and my niece had skin rxns to it. Tuesday evening she enjoyed her bath with the new wash and then wailed her little head off while Eric was lotioning her up. I had to laugh. Soothing my ass.

She has really been enjoying being entertained and playing lately, so we decided it was time to get out the exersaucer. We haven't had a chance to put her in it, but Eric did purchase a jumper during his last Babies R Us trip. Turns out she's not so crazy about it. She'll hang out in it if you stay right there and play with her, I'm assuming we'll have similiar results with the exersaucer. Could have saved a lot of money if we'd have purchased a huge roll of duct tape, so that I could tape her to my hip all damn day.

Next up, another pack of milk storage bottles because I'm going to be pumping even more than before as we've decided to give a bottle before bed in hopes of her sleeping longer. The first night we got 5 hours! Last night it was only 3. We're going to try a bottle in the middle of the night too. Last night she was up 3x, twice she nursed and once she had a bottle. Still kinda sucky, but an improvement over being up every 1-2hrs.

I will be purchasing this taggie blanket soon as I have heard from multiple sources of it's amazing power and like I've said, we'll try anything once.

One the paci front, she's still not crazy about them but will occassionally take a soothie, so I pulled out Kelton's wubbanub from when he was an infant and she kind of took to it. I say kind of because nothing is 100% with Katie. I'm going to purchase another and I found them for a great price here.

At that same site, I found some awesome white noise CDs that I can't wait to try.

And a bit of good news, we've noticed quite the decrease in her volume of spit up. Debbie noticed it also. We're still delaying solids until 6mo, but this gives me hopes of discontinuing her Zantac and getting to eat dairy again.
