Especially since becoming a parent, I have always been been interested in more natural ways to stay healthy. As a health care professional, I do see the need for conventional medicine, but I also am a firm believer that we can do a lot to fend off illness and treat ourselves naturally as well.
I have often heard the benefits of oregano oil in treating upper respiratory symptoms.
The oregano oil in used in North American Herb & Spice products isn't just any oregano oil either, it's oregano P73 oil. This oil is produced without chemicals using old fashioned cold-pressing and steam distillation. Because this oregano is grown in the mineral rich soil in the mountains of the Mediterranean, free of all chemical and pesticides, it's idea for human consumption and superior to oils produced from other oregano.
It's for these reasons, I jumped at the chance to try SinuOrega.
SinuOrega is the first natural sinus spray to combine the wild spice oils of oregano, bay leaf, sage and clove in a spring water and sea salt base. Because it's natural, it's also nonaddictive.
The directions state to insert nozzle next to inner nasal membrane and gently squirt. Immediately sniff contents deeply to distribute throughout the sinuses. Repeat with each nostril. For best results, sniff deeply. Repeat as needed. Temporary burning, stinging, sneezing or increased nasal discharge my occur.
Easy enough, right? Should I mention I'm not a fan of nasal sprays and while I will use the neti pot, we aren't exactly friends. I do however have some pretty constant sinus issues from living here in good old windy, allergy laden KS. More than once a week, a sinus headache gets the best of me. In the past 10 yrs, I've only taken an antibiotic only a handful of times and the majority of them were for sinus infections I couldn't manage to kick naturally.
So...squirt and sniff!! The temporary burning and stinging? Yea, that's not a lie. Katie followed me around asking if I was okay. Haha!! Shortly after I blew my nose and my sinuses felt more clear than than they had in ages! I felt great enough that I actually used it again and again! The temporary (very minor) discomfort is more than worth the extended relief! I'm excited to tell my fellow allergy suffers about this great product and even more excited at the possibility of no more sinus infections!
I also had the opportunity to review OregaSpray. It is a completely natural, edible, multipurpose spray with hundreds of uses including : veggie wash, air cleanser, hand cleaner, toothbrush spray, odor neutralizer, kitchen and bathroom cleaner, pet deodorizer, body or foot deodorant, public disinfectant and breath freshener. Personally, I like using it to clean our veggies and being able to spray it directly on the dog!
