I was so excited for his 1st Birthday, yet dreading it at the same time. It's our last 1st bday and yet another reminder that my baby boy is growing up.
After continued indecisiveness on my part, Eric helped me settle on a farm theme. I used my cricut with the create a critter cartridge to make the invites and some decorations.
Poor little man didn't sleep very well Saturday night and ended up taking a morning nap at kind of an odd time so that he was pretty much too tired to enjoy his party at all. He tolerated unwrapping his gifts as long as I was holding him.
I did manage to make a cake that was free of everything he can't eat or that we haven't tried yet. The frosting was not supposed to be pink. I flavored it with a Plum Organics pouch and thought that would make it blue/purple. Apparently not.
Since he was so tired, cake eating really didn't go all that well either. He did mash on it a bit and taste some of the frosting, immediately followed by rubbing it all over his face and eyes because he was so sleepy. Poor little bear!
We wiped him off, put him in his swing and he went to sleep instantly. The party was just too much for him!!
I still can't believe it's been a year since he was born! Although the food allergies and sleeping habits (or lack of) are a lot to handle at times, our little wiggle man is the best surprise of our lives. It's just simply amazing how much you can love someone you never even knew you wanted. Thank you God for our Konny-Bear!
