Turkey Trotting and Birthday Cake!

Although E's birthday was on a Thursday, because of the kid's activities, we didn't get to celebrate until Sunday.   We did surprise him by having his tool box at work covered in balloons and streamers.  I'm super thankful to one of his coworkers for helping me out with that!  I wish we'd have gotten a picture!

On Sunday, we'd all signed up for the 2 mile Turkey Trot.  What we didn't count on was that it would be 17 degrees that morning!  The kids were eager, so we bundled up and headed out!  We arrived early enough for a decent parking spot but stayed in the van until it was almost time to start!

We were thankful to have that stroller on the way back to the van because each registrant got a free turkey!

Kids 8 and under were given a participation medal.  Katie ran the majority of the way and finished in about 28 min.  Kelton took off on his own and crossed about 20 min.

When we got home, we were afraid we'd have to delay birthday cake a second time because Konny was having an FPIES reaction (no clue on what caused it).  Thankfully, he slept after it subsided and woke up fine.  The kids were super excited to celebrate.   I tried a new recipe...pumpkin pie cake and it was a hit!  Sometimes on birthdays, we just have cake for dinner and this was one of those nights!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Happy Birthday Eric!

Way to run Papon family!!! We may have to do an extended family race together sometime! I haven't ever seen a race where you get a free turkey, way cool!

The MN K-kids are excited to be coming south in a few more weeks.
