Ladies Pond Night

I can't say enough how much I love our neighborhood. In the 4 short years that we've been here, we have made some fantastic friends that are really more like family. I literally cannot imagine living anywhere else. I am so thankful God lead us here in our home search and then kept us here when it was time to find something bigger. You know the saying, it takes a village to raise a child....more like a neighborhood. I can always count on someone being there for me no matter what I need and you can never have too many people loving your children.

Renea made Bugs this adorable top.

Last night we celebrated Glen and Frankie's daughter's upcoming marriage. The girls hung out outside and the boys where were at our house for a poker night. I was a little nervous to head out since Kon was being a fussy man, but I was assured that with all those daddies, someone would surely be able to make him happy.

In preparation for last night, I did my shopping early again on Thurs evening. I only went to Dillons and spent $43.24, but saved $56.32. Not too bad! Stuff like ketchup, I only buy this time of year when I can get it for next to nothing.

We had tons of yummy food and of course
a giant batch of my infamous sangria!

I brought Laura's spinach dip and my mom's corn dip. Like most delicious dips, the corn dip is so good you could almost eat it with a spoon.

2 cans Mexicorn, drained
1 cup mayo
1 cup sour cream
1 sm can green chilis, drained
1 cup shredded cheese
chopped green onions

It's best served with Fritos Scoops, but is mighty tasty with tortilla chips as well. I used low fat mayo and fat free sour cream to make it a little less naughty.

It was a fantastic night! Believe it or not, the ladies all headed to bed HOURS before the guys. I believe we also felt pretty good today and I'm not sure I can say that about them. ;-)

Please don't forget to keep Kjerstin Webb and her family in your prayers. There's a paypal acct set up now if you'd like to donate. There are also silicone bracelets and tshirts being made that are available for purchase. There's lots of different fundraising events in the works, including a garage sale later this fall. All this info can be found at The KMW Fundraising Blog.

Yum, Yum, and YUM!!! I'm glad you like my spin dip :) I haven't made it for a while...I'm due for a big 'ol bowl of it!! Your mom's corn dip looks very good. I am for sure going to try that out. AND, I love Sangria, but I haven't found a good recipe to make myself yet! Do share :)

So fun that you have such a great neighborhood! That's a blessing!

I make the same corn dip, but not for ages. Love Buggy's top too. Looks like you are still awesome on your couponing.!!
