I used a jar of pasta sauce (lazy, I know!). I added some browned deer burger, chopped onion and green pepper, shredded carrots and zucchini and let it simmer a bit. The smell made my belly growl! Doesn't this just look like it's begging for some crusty bread to be dipped into it?
In a separate bowl, I combined about 15oz of ricotta, an egg and a handful of italian blend shredded cheese. I put a ladle full of the sauce in the bottom of the crock, then a layer of DeBoles gluten free lasagna noodles, followed by the ricotta mixture and repeated until I ran out of ingredients. I sprinkled some more shredded cheese on top and cooked on low for 5 hours.
Right before I served it up, I added a little more shredded cheese. This was seriously awesome. I can't stop patting myself on the back. It's fun to have success with my own recipes! E liked it, Kelton liked it, even Katie ate a couple bites! YUM! I'm not sure I want to make lasagna any other way ever again!
I finally finished the peace sign for Konnor's room. I've had the stuff forever but every time I got a chance to paint, it was windy or raining. I love the way it came out.
We have a fun weekend planned! Lots of family will be here!
The kids can't wait!
