Another Snow Day!

It turned out that we ended up missing most of the blizzard of oz during round 2 of our snowpolcalypse.  Even though school was canceled, I made it to and from work on Monday without any issue.  That evening we started getting some wind, sleet, and snow.  By 9:30pm, they canceled school on Tue, which was the 4th day in a row!

I took some awesome pictures the next morning....without the card in the camera.  When it realized it later in the morning and took more, things were already starting to thaw.

We were getting a little stir crazy with all these snow days, so we made oobleck!  It's just cornstarch and water.  Is it liquid or is it solid?  It was so fun!

Board games always help pass the time too!

And if you really need something fun to do on a snow day, why not work on potty training!?  Konny is doing great!  Loves wearing his big boy undies!  He proudly posed, showing me his muscles!

It's pretty safe to say, I doubt there will be any more snow days this year!  This weekend is Buggy's rescheduled bday party since she was sick last weekend.  Hopefully everyone stays healthy!

SNOW!!

It's been so long since we've had snow that I wasn't ready to believe it until it actually happened!  Just as forecasted though, it started early Wed morning.  Our drive into Wichita took twice as long as normal, so we decided to skip our stop at the grade school and reschedule K2 and K3's checkups for that afternoon.  The first round didn't bring too much, maybe 4 inches.  I got it shoveled before Eric got home.  I love shoveling and was excited to finally get a chance after so long!

When Daddy got home, we played in the snow before dinner.

SNOW BALL FIGHT!

Jasmine wanted to play too!

School was canceled on Thurs and Fri! Daddy was even home on Thur because it was such a mess. We ended up with somewhere between 14-16 inches of snow.  We played again on Thur.  It was so deep,  Konny could hardly walk in it.  I got to do lots of shoveling, clearing our driveway and helping the neighbors too.

Konny helped me with the deck.

Friday night we had snow ice cream!  Mmmmm!

Now we're ready for round two.  The latest reports are saying up to 20 inches with blizzard like conditions because of the gusting winds.  School is already canceled.  Eric is home with the kids (poor Buggy is sick) and I will be attempting to get to and from work!  All the snow can be a bit of a pain, but the kids love it and we are praising the Lord for the much needed moisture!

Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day is always super fun and since the kids really like it, I try hard not to let it get lost in the business of all the birthday parties we have this time of year.

Of course we had our favorite gel window clings.  So fun.  So cheap.

Katie and Konnor did our regular sucker valentines.  I was surprised that Konnor stood still and let me take his picture.

Kelton went with something different this year.....

We made these cute little thumb print cards for the grandparents....

For Kelton's 3rd grade class party, I had them play Minute to Win It Valentine Style.  They each got a handful of conversation hearts and had 60 secs to stack as many as they could.  Whoever had the most standing at the end was the winner.  We played several rounds and you wouldn't believe how quiet the kids were!  I wish I had pictures.

After Kelton's party was over, we picked up Katie and Konnor who were having a pj day and their Valentine parties at Learn and Grow.  We headed over to the local nursing home to hand out Hershey Kisses to the residents.

Just like last time, Konnor has the most fun.  It's funny how they elbow each other out of the way to be able to be the one to hand out the treat.  All the sweet little old ladies tried very hard to coax him onto their laps, but he was busy handing out candy!  Hopefully we can make it back again around St. Patrick's Day.

Since Thursdays are pancake days anyway, I figured red velvet pancakes would be perfect for Valentine's Day.  I'm not sure if it was that I couldn't use real butter or the gf flour, but they were an epic FAIL.

Thankfully we had our plenty of our regular Thursday pancakes in the freezer.  We set up the tables with balloons, marshmallow pops and put valentine candy corn on their pancakes.

If I can manage to get over the candy coma I still have, there is lots of prep work to day for Katie's My Little Pony party this weekend!

Konnor is 3!

Now if you would have asked Konnor for about the past year how old he is, he would have told you 5.  Hehehe.  Not sure how he decided that but he said it very confidently.

In reality though, he just turned 3 on Wed.  I tried to stay up until his birth time of 12:50am on Tue, but didn't quite make it.  I have fun remembering the surprise of his birth and love sharing the memory with a church friend.  She works at the grocery store and the night he was born really wanted me to have help carrying out my groceries.  I declined, loaded them up, came home and not 30 min later, my water broke.

My heart is so full remembering seeing my surprise miracle baby for the first time.  He was so tiny (to me) at 7lb 12oz and such a blessing after an uncertain pregnancy.

We had his party the weekend before his bday.  He decided on his own that he wanted a Thomas the Train bday.  Believe it or not, I still had cups and plates left over from when Kelton had a Thomas theme from his 3rd bday! I used my circut for the decorations.

We started the party with his bday video.  I do them through the kids 3rd bday, so this was the last one I will ever make.

Next it was presents!

Then a Thomas game similiar to pin the tail on the donkey.  The kids looked hilarious with the little blindfold on!

Finally it was cake time!!

The Thomas shirt he wore for the party is the shirt that Mimi made for Kelton when we saw Thomas LIVE when he was 3 yrs old.  I remember that the poor guy was sick and didn't even enjoy it.

On his actual bday, the little stinker slept in until almost 9:30am!  I had a cookie with a candle waiting for him when he woke up.

While the kids and I were at church that night, Eric and Konny had Sonic drinks and Konny got to pick something out at Atwoods.

Only 1 more birthday to go and we're done until next year!  Whew!  I'm not sure if it's easier or harder to get them all over with in a matter of weeks.
