A Quiet Valentine's Day...

Valentine's Day this year didn't get lost between all our Feb bdays, it kind of disappeared because poor Konny was super sick.   We didn't get to go to Katie's class party or visit the local nursing home.  The day was spent cuddling my poor sick little Bear in the recliner and then falling fast alseep with him long before Eric and I got to watch the RedBox we rented.

We did have fun preparing for Vday though before Konny started running his fever.

Katie and Konnor had fun decorating their valentine boxes.  Since this is something Kelton has always done in school, I didn't have a lot of experience.  Thank goodness for leftover cricut pieces!

Katie and Konny decided sucker valentines again and Kelton wanted mustaches again.  This year we ordered mustache tattoos to go with them!

Last week when Konny was better, we delivered homemade granola to the ladies in the office at the grade school and hopefully Friday, we'll finally make it to the primary school to deliver homemade hot cocoa mix. We love the office ladies!  They are so great with all the kids and a huge help with box tops!

I had several different Valentine projects planned but only managed to finish one and I love how it came out!

Next up is St. Patrick's Day and then Spring Break!
I can't wait for a week of fun with my kiddies!

Happy 4th Birthday, Konnor!

Our sweet baby bear turned 4 at 12:50am last Thursday, 2/13.  It hardly seems possible that 4 years have flown by.  Although he's definitely all boy, he still loves to cuddle!

Thankfully we had his party the weekend before because the poor guy came home on his actual bday with a 103 temp and ran it for 5 days!  He ended up with a double ear infection and his left ear drum ruptured.  We spent lots of time cuddling in the chair watching his favorites...Toy Story, Calliou and Transformers!

Speaking of Toy Story, that's what kind of party he wanted this year!

Konnor requested a green cake with chocolate frosting and "peanut butter meatballs" for his party!

It was a super fun day and we're glad we had so many friends to celebrate with us!

Finally Some Snow Days!

I was kind of starting to feel like maybe we wouldn't have any snow days this year, but we finally got a good heavy snow and two days off of school last week!  The first day was great!  It was only about 25-30 degrees so we spend lots of time playing and shoveling!

Of course we had to have hot chocolate!

And Remington was eager to warm up by the heat vent....one of his favorite spots!

Later that afternoon, we tried molasses candy.  I read Little House in the Big Woods to Katie last year and thought it would be fun to try this like Mary and Laura did in the book.

Unfortunately it was not that tasty.  The molasses flavor was just too strong.  It was fun though and we'd like to try it again with maple syrup or honey.

Luckily we had some snow ice cream later after dinner (yummy chili!) to make up for our failed candy attempt. We made the ice cream with some of flavored coconut milks from So Delicious.  It was so good!

On Wednesday, our 2nd day off, the high was like 7 degrees, so we stayed in the house, in our jammies!

Much to our surprise, we ended up with 4-5 inches last night when we were expected 1-2 inches.  When I got a text at 5:30am this morning, shortly followed by the phone ringing, I knew what that meant.....another snow day, not even a week later!  I don't think it even got up to 20, but we still enjoyed it!

I do have to say I'm feeling quite done with all this snow and am very much looking forward to it warming up this weekend!  We're looking at highs in the 50s!  I can't wait to get a run in!

Kelton's in the double digits!

Surely I'm not old enough to have a 10 yr old, right?!

Kelton continues to be such a great kid, excelling in school and sports, especially soccer.  Earlier in January he was in the spelling bee finals again!

E and I like to treat each kid to a one on one meal out to eat on their bday.  Kelton choose Applebees.

When we got back (thank you Mimi for watching the little ones!), we had some cake and opened presents!

That weekend, he had some of his friends spend the night.  Six 4th grade boys can be kind of rowdy!  They were well behaved though and everyone had a great time!  Of course we had to have pizza and cake!

Konny didn't want to be left out!

I cut out some different props with my cricut so they could have a photo booth and take pictures with their ipods, tablets, etc.  Such a fun and inexpensive activity!

I managed to finally quiet them down shortly after midnight, but nobody had trouble waking up in the morning for donuts!  I'm so thankful Kelton has such a great group of little friends!

Christmas #3 at the Farm!

It's only the first(ish) of Feb and I'm finally posting our last Christmas celebration.  That's not too late, right?  We always look forward to an extended visit at Nana and Papa's because the K-cousins will be there!

We had time for hay rides, shooting, riding Cheyenne, playing dress up, a little crafting, some presents, and Carrie even slowed her pace and let me run with her one morning.  So much fun and we can't wait to see them again this spring.
