I couldn't wait to start again today!
I decided to try macaroni and cheese. I used DeBoles corn elbow style noodles. After reading some of the comments from the original recipe, I decided to decrease the milk to 3 cups instead of 4. I also only used 1/4 tsp of dry mustard instead of 1 tsp because well, I'm not a mustard fan and it scared me.
And since I'm an overachiever, I used a 2nd crockpot to cook some meatballs in bbq sauce. I let them cook for awhile and then drained off the fat before adding the sauce.
The verdict on the mac and cheese? It tasted awesome. The boys both loved it. The texture was a bit different and the noodles got a bit too soft. (Which may have had to do with the fact that I used corn pasta instead of wheat.) I do want to try this again, adjusting the liquid and cooking time even more. I think with a bit more tweaking, it could be totally awesome. Although E says since I make a mean baked mac and cheese, anything other than that will definitely be hard to beat.
Poor Buggy didn't try any because she's been miserable all day with another mystery fever. She's running 104 again, just 3wks after the last time. I hope she feels better soon because we have several appts on Thur that I really don't want to reschedule.
I'm giving some thought on tomorrow because I do not like to waste food and right now we have 2 nights of leftovers in the fridge, but I'm still going to use the crockpot somehow!

My vote is for cake in the crockpot. I have had some in the past and it was awesome. Then you can eat your leftovers and have a wonderful dessert.
Hope bugs gets feeling better soon.
Poor Katie--she looks so pathetic asleep on the chair--makes me sad for her :(
I would love the recipes you are using--either the link or a post. I'm always looking for new ways to use my crockpot!
