The end of Oct & Halloween!!

I haven't had much time for blogging or reading blogs lately. Don't ask me what I'm doing with my time because it sure doesn't feel like I'm accomplishing anything fantastic around the house.

Little Kon is still struggling with sleeping a good stretch at night. He usually passes out just when it's time to get up for the day.

We've gotten a handful of foods under our belt; apples, bananas, carrots and pears. Trying new foods, especially FPIES triggers is completely nerve wracking. I just pray that we don't hit anymore bumps and that everything we try from now on is a success!

We didn't get much info from the allergist about the FPIES except to just keep plugging away trying foods then avoid what makes him ill and have a low threshold for heading to the ER or immediate care. I felt like I'd leave the appt feeling comforted, supported or just more knowledgeable. ANYTHING! Instead, I just cried. On the positive, the only IgE rxn he had was to peanuts.

His previous rast showed a very low result to whole eggs, so we're avoiding just to be on the safe side. We've been on zantac 2x/day also. We weren't sure it was making any difference until we skipped it one day and we won't be doing that again anytime soon! Overall, he's still mostly a happy little man and I just love him to pieces!!

His new thing is clapping and he's quite impressed with himself! And notice how well he's sitting!! If we could just get his upper body strong enough to hold him to crawl, we'll be done with PT (hopefully forever!!)

I'm still using my crockpot every chance I get. My 6qt seems to get dangerously hot on the outside, yet cooks very slow. My 4qt cooks very fast, often burning on the left side. So, AHEM....no one should question what I'd like for Christmas!

Recently, I made Vegetarian Stuffed Bell Peppers. WOW! I had to alter the recipe a bit to make them soy and dairy free, but they were still fantastic! It was almost a bit too bland though so we also added salsa, which think could replace the pasta sauce entirely. I just made some more of the filling last night to eat rolled up in a tortilla or with chips.

We were a little late getting to it this year, but Kelton and I made sure to sneak out after dark one night to BOO! the neighbors. He loves ringing the doorbell and running!

For Halloween this year, I made us all tie dye pumpkin shirts. I've been wanting to do it for a couple years and finally go around to it. This isn't a great picture, but proof that even E wore his with pride!

Trick or Treating was a blast! Katie was much more aware this yr and excited to "go get candy from Pete!" Of course we had matching jammies too!

Layla isn't staying with us anymore and we were bummed she wasn't able to get in our pumpkin shirt or matching jammie pictures, but I'm sure she had a great time trick or treating as a kitty cat this year!

Looks like everyone had lots of fun trick-or-treating! I loved the costumes. :)

Your kids are adorable! RAST tests are absolutely no fun. My older daughter was allergic to egg whites and she grew out of it between one and two years old. I hope your little guy outgrows his!
